Supernatural News: Kripke Makes a Deal, Katie Cassidy Out, Jared Loses His Undies
A lot has been happening on the Supernatural front. First up, Variety reports that Supernatural’s Fearless Leader/Malevolent Genius Eric Kripke has signed a two-year deal with Warner Bros. TV. In addition to running Supernatural, Kripke will develop new projects for the company. Potential projects? Well, Kripke has said he wanted to do a sort of Supernatural prequel set in the Old West and exploring some of the show’s mythology (like the origin of the Colt, we assume?)
But that’s not all: TV Guide broke the news that Katie Cassidy is gone from the show. “She’s great, but this was unfortunately a financial decision — purely budgetary, because creatively she was terrific," Kripke said. "I have nothing but great affection for Katie, and she was great for the show. It was a very difficult business decision about the realities we are in."
We can’t say we’re totally surprised – after all, Katie had some serious detractors, and Ruby did seem pretty darn dead in the season finale (what with being possessed, then dispossessed by Lilith.) Still, it’s a bit of a shock, since Ruby seemed to be an important character. What do you think about the news?

Plus, there’s this hilarious bit of news: Apparently, Jared’s bags got lost en route on his recent trip to Australia, and he had to buy some clean underwear before hitting the convention floor. That’s where things got difficult, according to The Herald Sun: "I had to go buy clean underwear with the crazy Australian sizes that I didn't understand. 16? 18? I have no idea what size I am - we do small, medium and large. They're far too small - they're like a thong. It's embarrassing.''
His discomfort didn’t show, as these pics prove. Rowr! We’re glad to know that Jared can work though even the pain of inappropriate undergarments!

i'm dissappointed ruby & bella won't be in the show,both added something new and differnt and there was alot that could have been done with there characters,both actresses played the parts well and deserved to be treated better,

I think that not coming back to the show was a bit of a surprise for Katie Cassidy. She came to the Asylum convention and told the people in the coffee lounge with her that she's just gotten a role on a new film and had to leave the next day. She was glad the film was only shooting for four weeks because - and I quote - "I have to be back on the set of supernatural about half way through June"

I won't miss Cassidy she wasn't the best actress on Supernatural. Poor Jared on losing his undies...but I heard in a YOU TUBE interview that he himself said he got them back. Dam! Jared is hot and sexy...the CW will never know how to promote JARED AND JENSEN? So thank GOD, that others...like T.V. Guide is . I think that Supernatural is too big for the CW to handle?

It was kind of predictable that they weren't going to bring Katie Cassidy. I liked her, but after the whole Lillith thing, yeah. It's like Katie couldn't be Ruby anymore because she was probably sent back to hell or something.
Aww...poor Jared. Uncomfortable undergarments aren't the best. That's good that he didn't let it show.
I'm definitely looking forwards to the new season. :] Quite excited and can't wait what they have in store for us.

I hope that Ruby back, because she is very important to the story and we have a lot of question about her.

I'm not one of them but people don't like to be spoiled so you should of put the Katie info behind a cut for those people who subscribe to this feed like from Livejournal.

Poor Jared=p And he looks as adoreable as ever in those pics!
Also, I think we'll have Ruby back, just not KC. I liked her quite a bit, but I think they can do the character justice, even if she moves to a new "meat suit".
