One Tree Hill Podcast: "What Is And What Never Should Be"
Poor Nathan! He's trying to do the right thing, but he's slapped with handcuffs as soon as he walks in the door. While he's attempting to bake pretzels, the little gathering at his apartment devolves into the party from hell, thanks to surprise visitors Brooke and Nikki.
Pre-party, Brooke is out at a bar shooting down loser-ish guys... but then she ends up leaving with Nikki! Isn't that even worse? Once the trouble-seeking twosome arrives at Nathan's place, it doesn't take long for Lucas's night of passion with Nikki to be revealed.
Meanwhile, Dan doesn't get everything he wants... but he does get Deb (!). And they both looked good in the process. Oh, and Keith plans to leave town -- sporting a clip-on tie, no less!

I just had to respond and say that Lucas sleeping with Nikki wasnt a surprise. I mean come on he is a TYPICAL guy and he has acted as so for how many eppy's now? Too many as far as I'm concerned for Peyton to be surprised at his actions.Oh and P's disapointed in his actions, well I find that funny because I could have sworn they made out a few times a couples of eppys back behind her supposed best friends back? Give me a break, he was messing with Brooke when he had no real feelings of love for her so what's the big deal if he does it with Nikki?Peyton has no point and needs to get a grip and realize one she needs to honestly be looking in the mirror. Be disapointed in yourself Peyton! An yeah we all saw how Lucas and Peyton felt guilty, well reality check niether of you are perfect so stop looking at Luke like he's such a disapointment because you are too. Besides Lucas is an @$$! I love him but he is a typical male as far as I'm concerned. Just like Peyton is a Typical BS. This is all JMHO

LOL come on admit it. The reason why we heard a firetruck in the background was because your co-workers thought your insanity got too far with all podcasting so they called for backup lol. You girls have too much fun at your job.
Anyway great podcast like always. I definitely felt sorry for Nathan as well but ugh I hate Nikki. I hope they never show her again in any future seasons.
There was a comment made by someone about how they dont understand how Peyton could be mad at Lucas for sleeping with someone else while he was single. That wasn't the point.
The point was who Lucas really is. He's all about "Love" and having relationships and commitment and all these things. And then one night he goes completely against everything he stands for and did something that he would have never done before by having a one night stand with a random chick. THAT is why Peyton was not just mad but DISAPPOINTED in him. Lucas was not like most of the guys that either of the girls knew but after that night, he just proved that he was a typical guy. Which just disappointed everyone.
Just had to point that out. What I love about this show is that you need look deeper into the characters to fully understand whats going on.
Anyway keep up the great work girls! Remember to post about any interviews with Mark! :)

Haha you guys are so funny.
I can't believe you are almost done with Season 1. That flew by almost as fast as Season 5 did!
(As for Keith with the teaching certification, I think you can be a... what's a good word for it? a trade or a professional type of teacher and not be certified to teach so long as you know your field. Him owning his own garage for however many years might be good enough.
And the place Nathan works is called Hot and Twisted, which always cracks me up.)

Peyton has like no right to judge Lucas it made me sick. I'm like B* are you kidding me. I'm sorry she's annoying. As far as Peyon giving up on trying with Brooke, I was happy because I don't want them to be friends and I wanted her to just leave Brooke Alone. Of course their unrealistic twisted friendship doesnt end. whatever...

I loved the podcast like always. I felt SO bad for Nathan in this episode. I always find it weird watching the first couple episodes because it doesn't even seem like Nathan. LOL

Love the podcast!
It was great to see Haley have a party and see how she is in the spotlight...
I don't exactly remember all the stuff that went on between Dan and Deb in this episode but they are always fun to watch ...
I agree Nathan has really stepped up and Lucas has taken his place. Lucas has acted so childish and he needed to hear what Peyton told him, she gave him the slap in the face he needed. We definitly see a change in Lucas after this episode. He will try to find what he wants and redeem himself to everyone.
And as for Brooke, I think whoever said she was too harsh is right. I love Brooke, but really get over it... I didn't care for how she was hurt by her friend and bf but there are other people that have much bigger problems. Peyton was right, if Brooke is never going to get over it then what is the point of trying.
LP were great as friends in this ep. I'm ready for you guys to podcast later seasons when we see the love between LP.

I agree with what you girls said about Peyton's comments to Lucas. She's not saying that she's better than him or that she hates him just that she doesn't understand how he could do what he did (sleep with a stranger). She's also saying that she realizes that she doesn't want to be with someone (again) who does bad things. Peyton did a horrible thing, but so did Lucas (he was the one in a relationship).
I do agree that Peyton could have done something to show Brooke she cared/was sorry, but I'm also just happy to see them friends again. Also, Brooke would never help Nicki beat up Peyton, because she's better than that. I think people need to get over the Peyton hate, Brooke did.

but thanks again for another great podcast! agree about peyton just saying she gives up after awhile..and after that episode i liked how brooke showed herself being a good friend. and i hate that deb and dan slept together but ohh well waht can you do i guess. i wish there was a way you guys could finish all the seasons before season 6 comes on but im sure that would be way to hard! but anyways thanks!

I loved this episode, it was hilarious! I totally agree that Peyton shouldn't be so mad at Lucas, he didn't know it was Nikki when he slept with her, and besides, she's done worse. The fight was so funny to watch, I loved Peyton's face when Nikki pushed her into the refridgerator.
I admit that Lucas made some bad choices, but Peyton shouldn't hate him for that. She's been pretty selfish throughout the season, so she can't really say that Lucas is a bad person.

so dudettes i LOVE you...for reals i just spent the last two days (exluding 7 hours of sleep...4 for eating and 5 for work...notice restroom break time isnt included haha jussstt kiddin) listening to the genius that is your podcasting...oh hold on give me a minute to get all this brown stuff off my nose...haha but seriously i just discovered this podcast and OMG u embody the entire reason y i lend out my OTH disc sets...just to be there for the reactions from people to every episode and every plotline...Jackie, you are the voice of the OTH fan. The one that knows all the history..love ur input..Mia...i dont usually swing that way but 'dude' was right...very very nice raspy voice thing you got goin on! and u r hilarious..but really Sarah...you are me...(omg im lucas-creepy..) but i mean i agree with all of ur insight like seriously..and i love all of you guys not givin a crap about who ur offending or whatever...cuz honestly yeah alot of the fans of this show make me wanna choke somebody. and im never really sure if its me or them i wanna choke! them with their stupid 'a path MUST be chosen' 'choose a side or die' mentality! just watch the freaking show man! whoooo careeees if its PUCAS (HAHA) or BRUCAS (cough JEYTON and BROWEN) u chicks got it right...it should be NEITHER at this point cuz y would you even WANT him...anywayyyyy. Well I have to say I enjoyed this episode, Especially the fight scene. I'm sorry but I loved watching peyton get slapped lol. I was dissappointed that it wasn't brooke who did it but I'll take it. It still amazes me that people can actually watch peyton sneak around with her best friend's boyfriend and still feel pity for her. But I guess everyone see's things differently. In my opinion peyton should of got much worse then she did from brooke. oh and I'm still waiting for her to prove her self to her "BFF". I guess when things get tough, peyton gets going.
What really suprised me was brooke trying to stop the fight. I know if it was me I would of joined in lol. Even though they say Nikki was
brooke's "responsibility" I think it was nice of her to have peytons back like that. and then go over to her house to check if she was ok was nice too. Brooke even had sympathy for lucas, saying he's only human and people make mistakes.
Oh I loved how brooke turned down that guy at the bar. I was LMAO, becuase I know exactly what it's like to give a guy the brush off and he still doesn't go away. which is seriously annoying and I have to say brooke was my hero at that moment.
I felt bad for nathan, but seriously why would you talk back to the cop. I love you nate but that wasn't really smart. Haley was adorable, the poor girl had know Idea what she was doing. I would of loved to see party haley but the girl was too occupied with keeping the apartment in one piece. Loved the whole scott brother's against Dan.

Awesome podcast. Brooke was dead on with that guy in the bar. lol Sarah I agree with you I thought it was awesome. Tou guys didn't even mention Nikki throwing the chair which was overboard in my opinion. Of course Nikki is psychotic it's like Peyton said "a crazy psycho b***h" But that unseen brakage as Mia said sounded like a vase breaking. I admit that dating Nathan made her popular but he being a cheerleader boosted her dramatically.

Great podcast. But I don't really know what Peyton's issue was with Lucas sleeping with Nikki. He was single at that time. She should be more upset with herself for almost sleeping with him when he was taken... by her best friend.
I was actually very annoyed with Haley's sudden popularity. I liked loner Haley. I felt like she had more spunk.
