One Tree Hill Podcast: "We Change, We Wait"
One Tree Hill provokes some debate this week as we discuss Brooke and Peyton's interactions with -- and about -- Julian. But we can agree that we're thrilled to see Dan again, even though this softer, gentler version has us confused. Plus, The Beek returns! Hooray!
Lucas and Julian are in trouble -- they need to pick a director, even though everyone they talk to seems to be insane. That leads to the return of The Beek as crazed director Dixon, who scoffs at Lucas' impassioned defense of his story -- then turns around and parrots Lucas' words to Julian's dad. That means The Beek gets the job, which upsets Lucas, but we couldn't be happier.
Meanwhile, Julian and Brooke are at an impass -- Brooke doesn't want to set a bad example for Sam (huh?) and she's unsure of what she should do. Things get murkier when Peyton comes bearing a bit information about Julian's character which gives Brooke pause. Is Peyton protecting Brooke, or is she in some way jealous?
Listen in as we consider Brooke's motives, ponder the nature of Dan's existence, cheer Nathan's basketball victory, wonder if Mia and Chase are the new Mouth and Millie, and dissect the power of writers in Hollywood. Check it out!

You girls are just as bad as the show for real. That is not meant to be harsh, just truth.Every podcast it's Brooke this, Brooke that. Well I hate to break it to you this is not Brooke Tree Hill.Lots of people don't even like her.
As a fan of Haley I am severly disappointed on a weekly basis and I somehow don't see that changing.Between the lack of focus the show gives then listening to all three of you completely disregard her is sickening. I find at times even when she does has the little scraps thrown towards her on the show you girls still hardly mention her name in your podcasts. Last season you were all about Brooke/Owen, now it's Julian/Brooke/Sam. Hello Haley is a main character too, in fact Joy's name is before Sophia's in the credits.Joy is a talented actress being wasted. Sophia is not the end all to be all. Jackie/Mia/Sarah are just as bad as some people inside of this fandom.The Sophia Bush/Brooke Davis cult.It's quite sad. I don't even enjoy these podcasts anymore because I know what to expect every week. The Brooke Davis podcast review.You need to expand your opinions over different things besides Brooke. She is not even a pivotal member of the Scott family. Not everyone worships Brooke Davis and her storyline that bring forth tons of worthless newbies while a main charatcer like Haley is constantly ignored.Brooke is onscreen every other scene literally, never missing for more than two minutes.Pathetic. It would be nice of you could focus on someone else, namely Haley.K thanks.Maybe some gripping about how she is ignored.Something that is so tragic if you ask me.You girls are so opinionated, well make it count for something besides wishing for a hot guy to be shirtless on a weekly basis.

Haley's the only reason I watch and I really do not want to settle with scraps but damn Bethany Joy Galeotti and her incredible acting.
The last time I checked One Tree Hill consisted of an ensemble cast. Not Sophia Bush + guest stars and the others! It's lame and tiring holding your breath for something that obviously will never happen.
And Nathan has got to have the lamest, most boring storyline (next to Mouth, I can't decide which is worse) in existence. This don't-call-it-a-comeback storyline is a real snoozer. And it doesn't help with James Lafferty's lackluster performances.

wow I thought there would be more comments than this.
Dan has officially turned over a new leaf in my book. His and Jamie scenes are awesome but I also love the Lucas and Haley scenes. I'm starting to think that Peyton is kinda jealous so I kinda agree with Mia. But then again she is looking out for Brooke like she always does.
I waa laughing when Eric heard Rufus and Lily, Sam would def hear them and make sure they did and rub it in their face.
Brucas forever. I love their scenes.
Dawson's back hooray and he's a bigger ass than I remembered. lol quoting Lucas to Paul was genious but so wrong. I like Lucas and Julian hanging out too. I think they would get along well. The drive-by shooting idea was soo funny and it totally reminded me of the godfather.
Mia and Chase are sooo awesome. I wanna see more of them.
The ring issue the only thing that I loved about the whole ring thing was that Lucas and Peyton returned to where they first spoke to each other. It was awesome I'm getting nostalgic now. lol
I've seen the previews it looks so funny.
Nathan's team mate reminded me of Nathan from season one and Dan back in his days as a basketball player, like only thinking of themselves and not the team.
Julian at the end I was so happy when he said it was the other girl. That was some good choice of words.

i don't think peyton is jealous at all. why would she be? she's with the love of her life and she's pregnant and she's finally happy. she was definitely just watching out for brooke. she told her that story because of how it affected her, and she didn't want brooke to ever feel like that. even if what julian "did" wasn't wrong, it still broke peyton's heart, and she wouldn't want brooke to go through the same thing.
and i loved the comment about the "girl code." i thought it needed to be said!! and i loved it. i hope things between brooke and julian work out because i love them!!!
and i LOVED all the leyton callbacks to the pilot!!! so adorable!!!

Chase and Mia bore me to more tears than LP! I actually loved Mouth and Millie!
The ring - Funny how LP made a big deal about how well they knew each other, but they really DIDN'T know about the ring which apparently, Peyton's ALWAYS been dreaming of.
Julian falling for "the other girl" in the book - It just goes to show how beautifully Lucas wrote Brooke.
Brooke & Lucas - I love that Lucas always goes to Brooke to have real conversations about things that matter! Peyton asked him what was wrong, but they didn't really talk about it. He went to Brooke and said "what do I do?" And she told him a line that felt like it was written for BL fans. Don't compromise. It also felt to me like it was talking about his life. I (and others) feel that he compromised and did what everyone told him was best... be with his destiny... Peyton. But he should have done things how HE wanted them.
Jealousy - I felt a bit of jealousy in Lucas' voice. "Julian didn't have to wait." "Brooke! Are you and Julian?!"
I love that Peyton called herself out on the girl code violations throughout the years. Although she said it much milder than I would have... she didn't mention the cheating (season 1) or the manipulating (season 3 and 4). She just mentioned the engagement, which is a positive term vs the other negative terms.
"I want a director who sees that there are 2 sides to Brooke Davis... BOTH of which are amazing!"

great podcast as usual! it almost didn't download and i almost had a heart attack haha. but i loved this episode! i thought it was really fun and interesting.
i LOVE brook and julian together! her making him a letter man's jacket was sooo cute and then him giving it to her and saying that means they're going steady was adorable! i really like them. i thought it was a bit weird that brook just jumped into the whole committment ultimatum thing right away cuz i seriously doubt it would have much of an impact on sam if she was dating someone casually. like you guys said, it's not like she's bringing a new guy home every night. and dude the whole "no boys in the bedroom thing", how is that for brooke too!?!? it's her house, she's an adult, she's the "mom" apparently, and she has every right to have a guy in her room. i was really mad when i thought peyton screwed thins up with them because of the whole actress thing, but i'm glad she told brooke the truth when she found out. even tho she should have made sure before she even said anything. i did think there was a bit of a jealous vibe when she was talkin to brooke about it tho. and brooke is totally exempt from the "girl code" and shouldn't even be thinking about it cuz peyton is engaged to her ex and pregnant with his baby!! but i really hope they stay together, they're perfect for each other!
i think the lucas/julian scenes are sooo funny! they really play well off each other. i would love it if they became friends cuz they do have a lot in common and they are just good together. and i was so happy to have a lucas/brooke and lucas/haley scenes! i miss them so much, so it was amazing to have them. and they're all hilarious together too! i was glad lucas ended up giving peyton keith's ring. i liked how they referred to season one when he gave it to her.
the nathan thing was good how they didn't put him in for the whole game and have him make the game winning shot. it was much more realistic the way they did it. and nathan and haley actually kissed in this episode! seriously, it's getting ridiculous. brooke and julian have gotten more action together in one episode than naley has had in two seasons! i am not happy about that.
i'm really happy dan is back i missed him a lot. i wish deb would come back too tho. they should get back together cuz they're a lot funnier and a lot less creepy than deb and skills.
chase and mia is better than mouth and millie and definitely a lot more believable. someone last week asked if he was too old for her, but he's 22 and she's 18 so no he's definitely not too old. but shouldn't be making her long island iced teas lol. i don't mind them but i could do w/o them for sure. and i'm gonna be really mad if they keep getting more screen time and more storey lines than haley!
well i think that's it for my rant on this episode. now we have to wait two weeks for the next one :(
