Reaper: Hot for Teacher

Sam needs to look for these weaknesses in the Devil's assured demeanor so he can challenge the Dark Lord once and for all. In what seemed like an almost flip comment, we found out poor Alan succumbed to temptation and let loose in Vegas. This poses quite a challenge for Sam's quest to rid himself of the Devil's contract. Hence trying so hard to get under Sally's skin, despite an understanding yet insanely jealous Andi waiting back at The Bench.
Despite eschewing the Devil's advances, Sally, it turns out, likes playing the game as much as the next escaped soul. The Devil stages an elaborate plot to look like the hero in Sally's eyes by having Sam try to trap her with a vessel to send her back to Hell just before he sweeps in to save the day. Ironic, isn't it -- the idea of having the Devil save anything? While Sally doesn't fall for it hook, line and sinker, she does finally satisfy the Devil's libido.
With Sam back to square one, he agrees to the almost unthinkable -- sending his half-dead father into Hell to dig up some information. It was actually the old man's idea. A man can only live in a freezer in the garage for so long without going stir crazy. We'll admit we got a bit emotional when Sam, Sock and Ben bid farewell to Mr. Oliver. Sock, in his absent-mindedness or genius (you be the judge), gave Mr. Oliver Ted's cell phone as a parting gift. On the surface it seems like an odd thing to impart on someone, but when Mr. Oliver texts Sam from Hell with an update on his whereabouts, Sock looks like the smartest guy in the room.
In the meantime, Nina's charms got the best of Ben and the two reconciled. Of course, this happened while Sock burned down this feisty demon's lair. Ooops! It was done all out of love for Ben, of course. Wonder what retribution Nina will take on Sock? She was pretty vicious to Ben's car when she almost killed the bosom buddies on the highway.
What did you think? Are you happy Nina is still in the picture? Wasn't Ray Wise on fire in this episode? Can we say Emmy nomination?

I'd say how Ray is overlooked by the Emmys is a complete mystery, but this *is* the Emmys we're talking about. Recognizing quality isn't exactly their strong suit.

YES we can say EMMY. In fact if he doesn't get one for this, I'm blowing us all up.
