Melrose Place: There's Clearly Something in the Chlorine That Makes These People Crazy

Stuff we thought was pretty cool
When Vanessa tells Michael that she caught David snooping around in their garage while he was out of the country, the good doctor knows immediately what his son was after. He finds the necklace gone and immediately confronts David.
Even more brilliant than threatening Lauren's internship and the fact that he could flunk her out of ULA, Michael sics Amanda on David, informing her that the boy and Syd were thick as thieves right before she was murdered.
Naturally, that does turn Amanda's attention to the young Mancini. But it all backfires when David tips off the police and they catch Michael in David’s apartment, stealing back the bloody necklace. This definitely pegs Michael as a thief but does it mean that he murdered Syd? Apparently David thinks so because he begins celebrating Auggie's release from custody immediately.
Then, on the lamer side
Ella gets Jonah a job at WPK as an IT dude. In true Ella form, on his very first day she asks him to search the company’s email database for information that might show how Amanda is trying to sabotage her. Unfortunately for Ella, David also happens to run into an email from her to Caleb, congratulating him on giving the directing credit to Kavi Deknight on the Boomkat video and assuring him that she has Jonah in the palm of her hand.
Jonah quits on the spot (and fires and de-friends Ella). And even though Amanda sees that Ella had her boy snoop into her files, she's pleased that she has the all-out shrewdness and the cunning to break rules, laws and throw her friends under the bus for her career. In fact, Amanda would like to see just how corrupt Ella can become under her tutelage. And we're pleased to be along for the ride!
And then the totally creepy side
While she is working at Coal, Violet gets a visit from a mysterious stranger. Turns out it's her brother, Levi, but he does put the strange into stranger. He's paid back all of the money Violet stole from their parents and he wants her to come back now that she's literally hit a dead end regarding her birth mom.
When she tells him that she's not coming home he grabs her hand with both of his, looks her in the eyes and asks her, "What about us?" Say what? That Violet gets more and more disturbing by the episode. Okay, so they're adopted but it's still gross. Hopefully he'll just go away now -- far, far away.
The eppy's greatest lines
"Let me guess, you ran into each other at a support group for women who fake their own deaths." Michael to Amanda about how she and Syd could have ended up talking after all those years
"I know how much I've changed and let's face it, people like you and me -- we are who we are." Michael to Amanda
"I had no idea you were such a nerd whisperer." Ella to Jonah regarding his IT expertise
"Hey, was there something in the chlorine back then that made you guys all so twisted?" David to Amanda when she tells him she used to live at Melrose Place, back in the day
"I hope there's a greeting card for sorry, we all thought you stabbed the landlord to death." Ella to the MP residents when David informs them that Auggie isn't Syd's murderer
"The truth is, I really miss this place and I can't wait to become a part of each and every one of your lives." Amanda to the residents of MP
Who will Amanda get all cougar on…first?
In a recent interview with TV Guide David (AKA Shaun Sipos) spilled on what is going to happen with his character in the second half of the season. The actor flirted with the fact that Amanda will be interested in him. Uh, yeah, like father like son, we like to say. Of course, he’ll have to blow it first with Lauren by getting caught stealing...again. Naturally, Amanda probably thinks that David will help her find that special something that Syd supposedly was going to leave behind for her and didn’t.
What do you think about David’s possible tryst with Amanda? Do you think he should try to make it work with Lauren even though she’s a hooker and he can’t stop taking other people’s stuff? Tell us here in the comments.
